San Jose Medical Office Building Tenant Improvement

Following the lease of a 45,450-sf building in San Jose, a major healthcare provider retained ABA to provide pre-planning, program validation services, design, and construction administration services for its renovation. The intention was to create a cohesive and connected medical office environment for the Owner from a building that housed multiple tenants with separate individual clinics.

We began our efforts by validating the program and developing test-fits for each department’s needs, being mindful to reuse the existing layout as much as possible to minimize the need for major interior alterations. Through over 60 facilitated stakeholder and core team meetings, which moved seamlessly from in-person through online during the COVID-19 pandemic, ABA developed a final layout capable of meetings needs with efficiency. Along with physical building upgrades, the layout supports the Owner’s vision for providing patients with a caring and efficient experience.

The outcome is a modern facility optimized to provide excellent care through various outpatient specialty clinics including ENT, internal pharmacy, blood draw, anti-coagulation, cardiology, GI, urology, pain and pre-anesthesia.
